Urbs Et Arbos - Historical Roots

Walking tour - accompanied by archaeologist José Cristóvão

The Urbs Et Arbos trail, developed by the Egitânia Project, is a holistic approach to the occupation of the territory of Idanha-a-Velha, from its Roman foundation to the present day.

The main characters of this route are the trees of the village, assuming themselves in their secularity, as interlocutors and living testimony of different cultural periods, thus telling a Living History Rooted in Time, where the olive tree presents itself as the great constant throughout more than 2000 years of Mediterranean History.
