LANDRA
On you light earth
Performance

Roman epitaphs often read "sit tibi terra levis". However, the earth over a dead body was supposed to be rich and dense, rather than thin and light. Today we are unearthing ruins less than a centimetre deep, from imperial cultures that have left us a legacy of dust. How can we turn a future of rubble into fertile soil?

BRUNO HUMBERTO
After the Stones
Walk-performance

The silence of the Marrocos' house is interrupted by the work of the swallows - who go to Pônsul to fetch water to add to their spit and restore their nests once again. A group of people cross the village from one side to the other. It is said that one day they needed so many people that they came all the way from Monsanto to sieve, dig, reveal the ruins and look for the coins. They moved the bodies. Now, the gold is the people who remain with rescued joy, far beyond the lords of the land and then the stones.

The community of Idanha-a-Velha shared with us their idea of creating a barrier on the river Ponsul to retain some water in the summer, as the dry season has been getting longer and longer over the years.

Given these issues, we invited Castor to talk to the people of the village and imagine future natural engineering that could allow water to slow down and retain moisture in the soil in Idanha.

But Castor warns that nothing will be done if we don't collectively take care of today's river.

ANAFAIA SUPICO
Dyeing Plants
Workshop

During the month of April in Idanha-a-Velha, a plant processing workshop will take shape in the centre of the village. It takes the pretext of dyeing techniques and textile printing with plants, which Anafaia Supico has been practising for years, to open up a daily meeting space - a place where people can experiment with practices linked to botany and the uses of plants in everyday life (food, medicine, decoration), but also in social practices (history, science, technology).

IDANHA-À-VIDA
Collective Regeneration Workshop
Flávio Sambento

As part of Idanha-à-Vida's ecological programme, we invite you to take care of the land together. We will share the path that has been travelled - between transitions from eucalyptus to forests and listening to natural areas - and act with our hands in the soil to control Acacia dealbata. We regenerate by creating the conditions for the return of what has been silenced.

CANDELA VARAS
A poetics of legends
Collective reading

What happens when we lose our rhythm or synchronisation with things? The legends of Beira Baixa speak of these drifts, which we'll expand together around the fire.

BUREL
Spring Dance
Dance and workshop

In these times, the feeling that emerges most is enthusiasm. Enthusiasm for being able to share our experiences through music, to help create community through dance, through the ball. To provide lively encounters and embarrassed laughter at the exchange of feet, pairs and steps. But above all, the joy of sharing.
